Terms of Service for Repairs and Alterations
Preface
- The following Terms of Service apply exclusively to Repair and Alteration services. The Terms of Service for Custom Commissions are different and can be found on their respective page.
- Throughout this document, "CloverCat" refers to the service provider, and "the client" refers to the individual requesting the service.
Scope of Services
- CloverCat offers repair, refurbishment, and sizing alteration services on costumes.
- These services are available for costumes from any maker. As a special benefit, costumes originally made by CloverCat are serviced at a discounted rate.
- CloverCat reserves the right to decline any request for these services for any reason.
Quotes and Scheduling
- All services are quoted on a case-by-case basis, using the photos and information provided by the client.
- Depending on the complexity of the work, the service may be scheduled immediately or placed into the commission queue. The client will be informed of the estimated completion date with their quote.
Shipping
- The client is responsible for all costs associated with securely shipping their item to CloverCat for servicing. CloverCat is not liable for any items that are lost or damaged in transit for any reason.
- For health and safety reasons, all items must be sent in a clean, freshly-washed condition. Items arriving unwashed or in an unhygienic state will either be returned immediately at the client's expense or be subject to a cleaning fee before any service is performed.
- The estimated cost of return shipping will be included in the initial service quote. All return shipments will be fully insured for the item's value and will include a tracking number.
Repair Assessment
- The client is responsible for providing clear and accurate information and photographs for the initial assessment, as the provided quote is based solely on this client-provided information.
- Upon receiving the item, CloverCat will perform a final, in-person assessment. CloverCat does not guarantee that any item can be restored to a specific condition.
- If an item is deemed unsalvageable, or if the required work significantly exceeds the initial assessment, the client will be notified immediately to discuss options.
Payment and Refunds
- Full upfront payment for the quoted service, including the cost of return shipping, is required before any work will begin.
- Payments for these services are final and non-refundable, with one exception: If CloverCat deems an item unsalvageable upon in-person inspection, the client will be issued a full refund of the service cost. The client will still be responsible for the return shipping cost.
